How much is a clearance worth during the hiring process at the big tech companies?

If the clearance is still current of course. For all the levels S, TS, TS/SCI, w/ poly? Might be more relevant on the east coast. But also interested in the bay area. No value at start ups?

I would think at least the cost of getting one done (including delay cost). I once saw a post that said +20K to comparable non-cleared, position.

Only if the company has government contracts to hold the clearance. It's worth a lot more in DC. Very little classified work in the Bay Area.

Interested, I have one but not sure it's worth much in the tech world

It is worth something but not for every company. In order to use it a company needs to have business with the government (public sector). Splunk, Palantir, or big software companies tend to have some dealings with defense or intel clients

Startups rarely start out selling to the government because the procurement schedule and sales cycle is too long

Very valuable at databricks and probably palantir too
