Assuming you already own a apartment in Bangalore...
Considering the time span in the area, not much.
You have to be content in life
I’d make sure I never had quite enough to leave for Bangalore. I hope somewhere in rural America will be cheap enough for me by the time I reach 60 though :)
Atpeast 10 crores
2 should be good enough
@topp what are u talking dude? Even a flat these days costs 2-3 crores
Did you read first post? OP already own house. As long health is good and no other liability then 2 seems reasonable assuming annul expense 10-12L. Ofcourse Money and luxury has no end.
2 crores sounds interesting !!! I can retire soon then
Please do you will living my dream
OP, if you're Indian, you probably know that protecting your real estate from bad elements is a substantial cost in itself. Unless you own an apartment right in Brigate Gateway or equivalent, that's always a surprise - maybe it was built on a lake, playground, maybe some powerful person finds it fascinating, maybe your tenant just refuses to move out etc. Laws can't be enforced like you do in the US. And in case you're already in a position where you can protect your properties, you probably aren't asking questions about this. Therefore: maybe you want to budget for buying a new flat /house in native place, add that to your living expenses amount.
Any specific reason you want to retire in bangalore? That place is polluted, congested and deprived of greenery. Its not so distant cousin Mangalore is worth considering - least polluted city in India (yes you still see blue skies from there), amazing beaches around, hills & national parks, beautiful.. just what you need to retire!
3 crores plus house assuming your expenditure is 1 lacs per month . Put your money in my and debt , get 15 percent a year (45 lacs pa ) .tax on income is 10 percent only (ltcg) .re invest abt 30 lacs every year
2crore .. put it in bank . Get 1.5 lakh per month as interest from back.. and live happily ever after
The days of 9% interest are long gone. Not to mention taxes.
1.5 lakh/annum on 2crore = 18%? Can you get that rate of return in India? What about inflation?
