How often does FAANG level companies ask for proof of competing offer?
For FAANG level companies, so include MSFT and unicorns like Uber and Airbnb. How often do they ask you to show proof of competing offer?

Google asked for proof(even email having numbers is ok). In my case the other was a verbal one and I could not get it initially. Without proof Google gave a way lower offer. Later after a week I managed to get it in email and forwarded to google. They matched it.
They already know if the offer numbers are legit. Don’t try to fake unless you actually know the numbers. They might ask proof if numbers are way off.
