I interviewed at Uber last week and emailed the recruiter for any feedback or update ... she replied back saying they would have some decision for me by next week. Is this a negative signal that i m not being considered for the position any more ? Generally how long does it take for Uber to give out their hiring decision ?
On the same line what is happening with Uber these days ? They are all over the news every single day with different controversies. They fired their CEO and even planned to remove drivers from their core business and go driverless ( which again failed miserably). I mean what the fuck is goin on? 🤔
LOL is this guy for reals? He thought uber would remove drivers from its core business as a Q1 OKR
If she knows the result is a no, there is no need for her to wait. Its a good sign or no sign at all
This is helpful
With all the bad press at Uber these days, why would you want to work in that environment?
Timing wise you're coming up on the beginning of the school year - meaning that decision makers may be trying to squeeze in another vacation or could be trying to keep up with someone else being out. They may be interviewing additional people, but a two week turnaround on a decision isn't bad. Some Bay Area companies have a practice of interviewing all qualified candidates...ending in 6-9 months from initial application to offer. Most candidates are "over it" by then and they don't get their first choice. Hang in there! Right opportunity/ right time!
usually the cases are yes or no within a debrief that happens 2-3 days after the case. in certain cases, there is a strong split to make the proper decision (say for example: one very strong yes, and one very strong no). these cases may be escalated to higher management levels or be re-reviewed and take up to weeks to make a final decision. not saying whether your case is one way or the other, just saying it is possible that it's taking a while.
I hope so something positive happens
I was suppose to hear back from the recruiter by early this week .. I haven't heard back yet .. should I drop and email or wait for her to reply ?
It is only Tuesday .. so would early mean by Wednesday or should I wait until Thursday ?
It's not a negative signal. If it was a solid no, there's a good chance the recruiter would just let you know asap to have the matter closed and off their plate. If it's anything other than a solid no, there are a few places where could be a hold up in the process, even for a strong yes. Someone else mentioned vacation and that's a good thing to remember. Lots of people in my area are.on vacation now and what might have been a fast process when everyone is in town will slow down a bunch when their gone. Good luck to you.
Thank u .. the recruiter replied this today
