How shall I land an interview with Google?

I recently completed my Master's. Have more above 5 years of experience, but not with any Silicon valley companies (mostly freelance work with well-known to startups). After post-graduation I am trying hard to land an interview with Google with no luck yet. Any suggestions? How about Uber, Airbnb and such? I receive an offer from Yahoo, but many people think I shouldn't work there.

Why do you make your decisions based on “many people think”, yahoo may not be the best company to work for in today’s rankings(aka rat race), but you may be getting the best experience and learning you won’t get anywhere. Build a better mental model why you should work or not work for yahoo.

Do what you like or you feel good for you What people think cannot make your career grow

How do you like working at Yahoo? I am currently in a negotiating stage. Any idea how much a Product Designer with my level of experience and education can expect (base and TC) there?

If the offer involved working for an interesting team, that should supersede the name of the company. Do what you find interesting

Referral. A referral from a current employee pretty much guarantees that your resume will be looked at and you'll get a response (usually at least the HR phone call). Without a referral, resumes often seem to go into a black hole...

Yup. I recently managed a referral which is valid only for 30 days, but can't reapply before 90 days. What a timing 😭

To first three replies- I totally understand. I have nothing against Yahoo. I am good as long as they value my skill and I feel good to work there. It's just that Google is a great place to work at as well and I, at least, want to take a shot there.
