It’s not bs. These companies have diversity quotas, and female anything is preferred. You must have done quite badly to not get an offer with that advantage.

Lol, so you got rejected after acing the interview because they preferred a diversity candidate, but I got rejected so I must have sucked big time?

FYI - the hiring committee doesn't even know the candidate demographics or gender. So stop blaming your shortcomings on diversity.

HC sees candidate name, or no?

You tell me. But even if they did see the name, how do you say whether Alex Richards or Jaimie Roberts is male or white?

Diversity quotas exist. The fact that google has an opaque committee makes it ripe for such a problem suitable for environments behind closed doors.

P.S. I got the offer and rejected. So nice try, but this is about google and the current political climate, and not about me. So your ad hominem won’t work to your favor.

Sure you did 😂😂. BTW, you speculated about my performance first.

Lol "I got the offer and rejected". Nice one. It's about you lashing out over your own insecurities.

I speculated about your performance because the system discriminated based on gender or race. This is the result of these kinds of diversity programs. It’s yet again not about me, but the process and political climate.

I've always felt leetcode was least useful for Google amongst the larger companies. We ban most publicly available questions and generally assess more forgivingly: we look for ability to think things through rather than perfect regurgitation of a known solution. So focus on theory and general problem solving ability.

Interviewing is also a random process - even the best prepared person can be thwarted by chance. So, try and try again.

Is there any limit on how many times one can try?

I was feeling pretty good after the interview. Still failed 😐 with the feedback that I wasn't fast enough in a couple of coding rounds.

I am sure there is no limit cause I’ve heard coworker talking about interviewing a guy who have failed 5 times.

As far as I know, no limit other than the cool down periods between attempts.

Well, for me Leetcode was quite useful. Although nothing was directly from there, uses the same techniques.

I cracked the interview in my 5th attempt. So it's too early to be dejected. Couple of points that helped me nail it this time: 1) I focused on DP and backtracking coding problems 2) read a lot of white papers by Google to help with system design. Good luck

Could you be a dear and pass on the information about those white papers, please? How do you get those?

Ask your recruiter what the design interview will focus on and then look for white papers on that topic. I just googled for em
