I see people from consulting background are generally good at this, and it makes me wonder there is ways to train yourself to do it. While climbing management ladder, it’s so critical to have a sponsor from high up. Building such relationships is essential. Any books suggested? YouTube video?

Solve problems for them. Listen to the leaders who you are talking to, convince them your badass and solve problems. That'll put you in front of the next level of leaders. Rinse and repeat.
