How to find decent contractors for house work?
Just had windows done (10k), and they dinged up all the frames and even scratched some glass (manufacturer replaced it). Had AC installed (7k) and they took a bunch of shortcuts, then asked to borrow money (1k) from me a week later -- told them to f off, I guess I won't be getting warranty work from them. Both had good Yelp reviews and the window company was a referral.. Why are these contractors so incompetent? I am going to have to check up on all the work or just do it myself.

It's so hard to find good contractors. I had people do some structural work. Had good references. They fucked up. Hard to fix a structural fuckup. Hard and expensive as f-ck
