Heard congress distributing wealth
How do you guys go about evaluating your next career move? Especially hose who left FANG companies for smaller ones. After working for big companies I want to try working for smaller ones maybe even start up. But still want to play it on the safe side as I have a family to feed and I don’t want to make less for sure. Is there a place that lists all start ups/smaller but mighty companies? What to look out for? Any advice is appreciated.
There are two great times for startups: 1. When you’re young and don’t have a family and are used to a student lifestyle. 2. When you are financially independent and can take risks which won’t threaten your family’s ability to live without government support.
Goto a FANGT company. Startups are for suckers.

What are you looking for? I used to work at Workday too. Startup life is very different than Workday life.
Mind sharing any general comments? How’s it been since the recent acquisition?
Between this company and my last company which was also a startup, getting things done is very different. Lots of doing more with less, operating at many different levels and often outside your role, priorities are always changing. You just have to be flexible and know that going in. The workload can be crushing at times. One of my roles at Workday was very stressful and workload seemed to always increase, BUT I always felt like it remained 9-5. I haven’t experienced that anywhere else. At GD since the acquisition things have been fine. We’re not integrating at all. If anything we now have more money and resources to throw at projects which will be nice. I’m definitely wondering what it will look like in a year. Indeed is twice our size and plans to more than double soon. I don’t know how we can compete with that.
I think looking the stock performance T cannot be included in FAANG

I second this. But if you’re tired of that, then you should.
It is always nice to play it safe :) it seems like once you join Workday - it is almost like a cult. I am thankful for the opportunity to work here, but I really want to try something else. The culture is very odd at times, most of my team have known each other for 20+ years... so things like nepotism are prevalent. And if you go through various departments that’s pretty common. I guess there is no ideal company to work for, but I am hoping that I can find something better than Workday with similar benefits and trajectory.
