How to get Professional Managerial references when job hunting ?
I find getting managerial references very difficult ... Can’t give current manager’s contact details ( unless laid off and you’re sure they wont screw it up for you ) cause you don’t want them to know you’re looking . Getting previous managers’ details is so stressful. I have a bunch of my ex managers added to my LinkedIn network ( the ones I thought I had a great relationship with ) but they never reply to my messages. Some even switched jobs and/or relocated. How do you folks deal with this ?

It sounds like your bigger problem is you’re awful at maintaining relationships with people that are no longer immediately beneficial to you. Keeping in touch with a previous manager or coworker once per quarter isn’t that difficult...
