So I failed a few interviews and not feeling good about it. It's more hurting because the interviews were relatively easy. Now I don't have immediate need of a job but still I am always thinking about my failure and not able to focus at work. Any suggestions? Should I take a break from interviews and focus on myself? My head is not in sync with reality that I am in no immediate threat.
I always look back to the phrase ”It’s a feeling It’ll go away” in times of trouble. I hope that you’ll recover soon because if you were able to get the interview invites in the first place then you’ll be able to get some more until you land on one. Learn from the mistakes and improve. Be easier on yourself because You’ve done a good job so far. Just keep up what you are doing and achieve your goal.
Spend a little bit of time learning something new that you wish you knew more about. That will help you build confidence. Then do some more interviews
Let yourself be bummed for a day, then turn that into fuel to work harder. Understand what went wrong and become an expert in that.
check out interviewing.io before your next interview, helped reduce my interview anxiety even if I couldn't solve the problem.
If things aren't failing you are not experimenting enough. Failing interview is like riding a bicycle, you fall many times, but that shouldn't stop you from trying again. Plus, nobody learns without failing at first.
Keep consciously and constantly reminding your head of the last sentence that you wrote. “My head ....” And it will automatically sync up.
Find out what failed you at the interview. The best acceptance I have was I was not knowing enough. If I fail multiple interviews I realize I am not good enough to apply at the level and company I am working for. Either you can choose to level down or choose to work on the skills people need. Knowing what the problem is, is the best realization.
I usually try to find why I didn’t pass the interview. So I can try avoiding same mistake again. But I never let my self feel bad that I couldn’t crack it. Interview also depends on luck a lot. Learn from your mistakes and move on. Keep trying and you will be able to get job anywhere you want.
I would say some times are not ours. I went through the same phase first four months of year . Now I got offer in amazon. Just wait for the time and keep improving your weak areas. Take every failure as learning .

Most of us have been there. It’s more common than you think. Take a break, clear your head first. Then start your prep right from the very basics, try to solve easy qsns and build your confidence. You can then move to moderate and challenging questions as you gain momentum. Do mock interviews to control interview anxiety. It will all work out for the best !
Thanks for the advice. I was doing some preparations, solved around 100LC's but it's the interview anxiety results in me not able to solve easy questions on whiteboard. I think I need to prepare whiteboard coding before appearing on any interview.
"Control interview anxiety" : can mock interviews help in that ? I did mock interviews and still get it when i know this is not mock
