In short, I like the work I do, but I feel like my boss is bad - who gets upset for minor things. He doesn't wanna answer questions he doesn't know. I feel like the team is dysfunctional. But the work I do might help me land better opportunities in 3-4 years, plus the commute is short. How do I keep myself motivated despite all these? #NotworkingForQualcomm

Seriously don’t waste your time . Bad boss in life a bad wife/ husband life is just a series of 30 years don’t waste if you have a escape route. I regret not taking what came my way . Company is like a flight once you are done with growth tone to catch a new one
It's not that bad. My lead is bad, but my manager is supportive. So I think I can sustain for a while.

By interviewing tbh. Loved my job until we got a new boss. He is so unbelievably awful

Motivation - when possible, try and focus on what is rewarding in of itself. IDK, they sound like an average boss, not a particularly bad one, it might be possible to focus just on the work. Unfortunately there aren’t many options for dealing with a bad boss: 1. We can move jobs (the most popular answer and the relatively easiest—but of course doing this just perpetuates the accumulation of bad bosses who never have to deal with consequences and maybe even get kudos from higher ups for keeping the budget on track when your position isn’t replaced and your co-workers pick up the slack). 2. Deal with it. (This can work out if you think you can transfer or the boss will be moved soon. But it can also be soul-crushing so, everyone kind of has a limit of what they will tolerate. Drag your feet when you can without endangering yourself or coworkers. Humor them - a lot. Keep your head down in your dept but reach out to others.) 3. We can unionize (the best option imo, but it requires bravery and can be difficult to accomplish and maintain).
You have only two options, move on to different team/company, learn to deal with difficult people. For God's sake never try to change him/her or even worse try to teach him lesson by escalating. It will never end well for you. I personally would learn to deal with the boss as much as I can untill I have some better option. Assholes are there everywhere as well start learning to deal with them
Exactly my thought. He's not that bad, just reacts very differently when he is in a bad mood. Otherwise tolerable.
The way you think about seeing the benefits in staying for your resume/career is the right way to think short term, that should keep you motivated, try to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible, maybe make those 4 years into two then jump ship ... you should be able to get short term motivation from medium term goals ...
