How to obtain feedback from Amazon after a failed on-site interview?

I recently did an interview at Amazon and got a simple email with their decision to pursue other candidates. Is there a way to get real feedback? How long should I wait to apply again? I've heard timelines from 3 months to "never apply again"

No company will want to give you feedback because that is ammunition for you to sue them for whatever reason. I know it sucks, but just keep trying

this is not at all true. I got feedback from Doordash, McKinsey, Adroll and a few other companies. It doesn't hurt to ask for feedback.

It's either six months or never to try again depending on how much you missed by.

is that "never try again" only for "strong no hire" rating? I don't think I've seen anyone get that, (I think it's only used for when the candidate just doesn't care or fails miserably AND is rude) I wouldn't worry op too much by it. if you genuinely tried and weren't a complete dick I don't think we would black list you.

They have to agree in the debrief to recycle but a strong no hire also is never again I believe.

Consider yourself lucky. I thought everyone is leaving amazon.

I get Amazon recruiters emailing me weekly, even after I had a no hire after onsite, they're so desperate for headcount they'll almost take anyone.

More like more desperate to bump their top-of-funnel recruiting metrics

That's true, but many teams are starved for talent. They do have a bad rep in Seattle anyways which makes it even harder.

You'll never get that feedback. The myth that any company interviewing you will ever provide this kind of feedback needs to die. It's not homework where the teacher marks what you did wrong. You pass or fail. Try again in six months. They won't consider you any sooner than that.

I was asked to apply after 6 months after rejection.

I failed my on site and they put me in for two other roles that were more technical. I have another interview shortly. Talk to the recruiter, see if they recycled you. If so, see if there's another role you want or maybe same role but different team.

SAP VictorJ Jul 20, 2017

For me recruiter told to wait for 6 months.

Interesting. Well, if you don't have any AWS certs, now is a good time to start getting some. :)
