Working as an E6 at FB, TC around $400-450. Current worth around $1m at age 32. I am looking for ways to reach $10m net worth in ~ 5 years. This is a serious question, please no trolling. Bay Area is extremely expensive and job is very stressful where you have to constantly look for impact to keep the compensation up. $10m is my (luxuriously) retirement amount, at which point I think I won’t have to think about money anymore.
I have 1.6m if counting in real estate minus loans. @_@. Hope to reach 5m in 5 years.
How can someone who works at FB/G( or any major public company) make $9m in 5 years? Obviously ignoring the top CXO positions.
Except not all YC companies make sense these days :-)
Agree .. I have realized that’s the second best way to get rich quickly other than starting one :-).
Gaining $9m in 5 years means $1.8m/yr. Not going to happen on your current path. Starting a startup would give you a ~2-5% chance of $9m in 5 years... if you're really good. Also a good chance you'll still be at $1m when it's over. All of the other options would give you a reasonable shot at $10m in 15 years or so, but no chance in 5 years.
450k * 5 is not 9m
Oops, you're right. Corrected.

Assuming you get to keep all your TC, you still only get 2 million in 5 years. 10m in 5 years is impossible
find a business to consumer product and buy it build it. make sure its SAS product
Interesting, a troll post asking us not to troll.
You need a lottery ticket to get there in 5 years. Starting your own company or getting good equity in a tiny startup that blows up could get you there, but your odds aren't good. Stretch that out to 15 years and you could easily get there just by staying at FB.
Move somewhere where the cost of living of 1M can last you forever.
