How to rent a free home

Are there any way that you can rent a home, a basement, or car garage or anything else that is super inexpensive or. for free if you promise to take care of the home/house for landlord?

Why on earth would anyone, other than the government, give you something for free?

LOL. Are you an immigrant? I had a group of potential Indian tenants that asked if 4 Indians could room share in my 100sqft room for a total rent of 1600 in Bay Area... So 400 USD for each tenant in that room. They even asked if I could waive the initial security deposit. I promptly asked them to leave my property and never come back. Point is I have zero respect for cheap people because they have zero respect for others and general business. They only think for themselves. UPDATE: Just to be clear, in addition to the 100 sqft room, the tenant has access to shared bathroom, kitchen, living and dining rooms, backyard, and garage. Def justifies the 1600 USD rent

Someone should curb stomp you charging 1600 for 100 sqft of space.

It's actually normal. It's standard market rate. My house is 3 bed 2 bath and built in 2006 in mountain view. Plus bathroom and kitchen and living room/backyard access along w 100sqft of room space. And it's furnished + utilities included. What else do you want me to do?

van + company parking lot but avoid small talk about where you live with Co workers and always leave last

Yes it's simple. 1 - Become really good friends with someone who owns a property (someone that doesn't know and like you won't do this) 2 - ask if you can live there for free if you take care of it. 3 - have a really good story for why they should forego the profits from renting it to instead let you live there for free because just asking won't work unless they are super drunk or super high.

There are a few of those on Craigslist but very shady

Ive seen those. Usually a single guy offering "free" room to an attractive girl in exchange for some "housework"

Yes if the home is owned by your parents

Yes it's called house hacking. You buy the house and rent out extra rooms such that you live for free.

Most leases prohibit subletting.

Still really hard to get to $0 and youll be cramming your house full of ppl and fixing stuff all the time

Make friends with someone. After gaining their trust, tell them your SO kicked you out and ask to crash on their couch. Refuse to leave. If the police come, claim you are a tenant and want an eviction order. At the same time, make other friends to move to next.
