How to switch to manager level - inter company
Hi friends , How did you switched from IC to management . Can you recommend steps / how to apply Switching within company is not an option . Tired of oracle and their stock / perks FAANG accepts entry level manager ? YOE : 8-12 years

Take on lead/mentorship responsibilities, then at least you can have some experience to speak of. More likely startups are willing to start you off on split role for senior IC with management responsibilities. Established companies less willing to take the risk, if you only want established companies, much easier to endure 1-2 more years at Oracle for the experience.

Sometimes ICs coming from FNG are offered manager roles at lower tier companies.
It's very rare to get hired as a manager without management experience. Going from IC to manager in the same company is your best bet
