When interviewing how do you talk about current job? Specially if your not from a top tech company. Like if they ask talk about a project I enjoyed... I'm in finance and everything is pretty boring. I'm happy with my job and I enjoy it. But I cant really sound excited about it. I just do the same things over and over with slight variations. Also, if I was so excited about my job, why would I be leaving? Also, what do I say on why I want to work for new company? It's not like facebook/google/etc are doing anything exciting. At least not on infrastructure team. I just want to do my job and get a bigger paycheck. And I'm pretty happy. Even with the current lower paycheck.
Well, may be it's just my situation, but I have to say much more about smaller companies I worked for than companies with recognized names. At least, as far as my personal contribution is concerned.
Just be yourself. Some companies want someone with a dud personality
Go in with pre-planned stories that hit all of the major interview themes: challenging cross-functional work that you turned into a success, a situation where you took initiative in spotting and solving a problem, the most innovative thing you've done, etc

Just read the JD of the position you are interviewing for and be sure to include keywords that they are looking for. Make it sound as if THIS job is just training for THAT job. But... do... not.,. Lie!!!!!
