I’m coming across with quite a lot operational stuff at my work, which I think Project/Program Manager should take care of. It really takes big chunk of my time, and instead of focusing on the product vision/roadmap I have to chase daily operational stuff. How is PMO helping in your organization? Are happy with their work/help?
They don't help as much as they should. Have to constantly ask for things to happen instead of them being proactive, which is in their job description. They do help somewhat, but not to the extent they should. I feel like at the level they're performing now, their jobs could be automated away with good software.
they do only the high visibility stuff but not all the small stuff they should do
You talking about PMO training (like PMP), are you talking about PM type people being hired on to teams, or are you talking about a full PMO organization built in your company
The organization and people (Program and Project managers)
We have a PMO and they are mostly idiots who don’t know what my team actually needs. They do forward a lot of emails though!
PMOs don't handle operations...operations handles operations. PMOs handle the largest strategic initiatives for an org
Operational, not operations. Operational means things need to be operated/coordinated. Do you even read?
