Interviewing for a product role. How's Pinterest doing nowadays? Does it still stand a chance to go IPO?
Better than snapchat
We have 200M MAUs and 480M in revenue last year
Good to know! A few more questions: 1. What is Pinterest's revenue stream? 2. How's the culture at Pinterest? 3. Is Pinterest more engineering driven or product driven?
1. Ads (promoted pins) 2. Very friendly, nice, collaborative 3. Can vary a bit from org to org. In my org PM and eng pretty much have equal footing. Other orgs maybe more PM driven other more Eng, but I wouldn’t say any org is wildly out of balance with regard to this
Do it! Still enjoying my time here since I joined a year ago. Upper mgmt's focus lately has been spearheading a lot of necessary cross org projects to make ipo a reality. I'd take a guess at 1-2 years away. Lots of rewarding work to get done.
My guess is about 1 year
To be honest, the company is moving a bit too slow and stock refresh sucks. Engineering culture is fine but not the best I have seen. WLB is good.
“Does it stand a chance to IPO” yep, within a reasonable time
yeah refreshers are really bad and no real performance comp but very friendly positive culture
What does the PM role at Pinterest mean? Are they responsible for project management? I saw a role for core product, is that a general bucket?
Lots of churn lately. Offer acceptance rates are low. Too many people are leaving. Concerning.
Any particular reason for ppl leaving or churn
Lol, what’s airbnb? A website to rent an apt ? Very little networking effect, if there will be a cheaper option I’ll switch right away, that’s what I’m doing all the time
