Why not just come to Uber if you are interested in this space?
Lol
Wow...
It’s not GM culturally. It’s no longer even owned by GM. It definitely has a bay area culture. There’s obviously a lot more structure going to a 1000 employees, but it’s nowhere near classic american big company bullshit
It feels like startup at times, but with the resources of a normal company. Cruise is starting to get to the point where it's trying to hypergrow, so its a mix.
Was at Cruise and then left for ATG. Despite the recent set back, I still see a lot more getting done here and faster. Very happy I made the switch. Much stronger ML/AI, S&P and mapping engineers at ATG. I’ve been working on this space for about 4 years now.
I can’t recall a single engineer on the AV side that went to work at Uber
^same
Good luck with waiting for liquidity event
I got an offer from cruise but their equity was so small like a fresh college grad level. Had to pass for another startup, not at all clear on the value of RSUs
What was the offer?
Is it true they’re issuing actual Cruise stock in new offers because of the SoftBank investment? Instead of GM/cash?

Well lot of guys tend to come in many shapes in sizes in the woods when cruising... oh shoot wrong type of cruise
I am asking about the culture, not shapes and sizes. When these guys cruise ... Do they move fast and break "things" or every thing needs approval from the senior authority...
Well they tend to move fast depending on the mood and if there’s people around. Especially when there’s people hiking out and about.
