Huge drop-off between website traffic and 'site visits/landing page views' from Twitter and Facebook ads

Hi, I have been running ads on social platforms for 5+ years and have never had a drop-off so HUGE between ads reporting and actual traffic to the website. All my tracking pixels are in the correct space and my CTR is above 3%, with very tight audiences, so I know that's not the issue.
Has anyone experienced this before? Any recommendations?

Fair answer, but it’s a content site. I’m thinking the drop off has to be a domain or a page load error, any suggestions?

Yes, on pages where ads are driving traffic there is spike in load time, but we’re not driving a ton of traffic. Less than 1k daily across the website daily, so it doesn’t make sense because we don’t have heavy imagery or videos. Any ideas why that might be happening with such a small amount of daily visitors?
