I-140 in Amazon internal and external transfer

I am waiting for my I-140 which should get processed by March-April. Can I switch teams at this point of time and maintain my I-140 status? If I switch after getting I-140, do I need to restart the process? If I change company after I-140 approval at Amazon, do I need to something about I-140 again?

For internal transfer - if job position and requirements are similar, nothing should change. For external - if you move after approval you can retain I- 140 priority date, but you will have to file a new perm which will give you a new date. Then you can petition to retain previous date if previous application wasn’t revoked by amazon ( which typically doesn’t happen )

If I move different teams in AWS, I don't need to refile I-140, right?

It’s a different business unit, so that would mean reapplying for the I140. I’m not sure what you mean by an external transfer

I was considering a move from Lab126 to Amazon corporate. I had an offer and I contacted an Immigration specialist to make an assessment and I was told that they would file an H1-B change of employer on my behalf before I could start work for Amazon Corporate LLC

Your i-140 will be fine as it is filed for a future job offer. Your current h1b will need to be changed to the different entity...
