I've had the most stressful quarter and thought I'd take a week off to detox. So I left my work phone at home, rented a car, and drove for 6 hours to LA, and booked a random hotel for a week. It's been 5 days, and I still can't get work out of my head. I keep thinking about what I want to do when I go back. I think I'll go back more stressed than I was. Is there any hope for me?
What distracts u the most binge tv , sex , booze š„ get into those sins and get the reboot.

One week is too less. Minimum of 2-3 weeks is needed. During that time try to make a list of activities that are healthy like walk in the park, yoga, meditation, some creative thing you like to do. Avoid digital inputs from phone, tv, news and give yourself time to switch off and relax. All the best!
Whatever city you drove to must have sucked. Next time, go somewhere else. Like the 3rd world countries. See some shit and come back with a new perspective.

Find something tedious that you love to do, and do it while you are on PTO. It will help take your mind away from work! And btw, leetcode hard problem is not qualified š¤£
You need 1-2 months for burnout
I bet that would work yeah. But I only have 5 days of PTO left this year.
That's why you need to change job every couple of years and take a good break in between
Run, hike, swim, run, eat good food, play cards or board games, run.
