I work at an investment advisory firm that works with institutional clients. I do manager research, performance analysis, and portfolio analysis for a proprietary LP. I have all three titles formally. My comp is 50k... according to glassdoor i should be getting 65k in my area for the title & duties with the lowest comp, let alone the other two. Any insights?
50K? Jesus why did you accept this position and comp
When youre unemployed, you get desperate? Beggers cant be choosers
I needed something at the time. It was strictly a desperation based decision. I had an equity research role fall through that took months to interview for. I needed something fast and took this, but given the comp I’ve remained on the market.
50K????? Leave everything and change yourself man. Start from fresh.
I’m awaiting two decisions on jobs right now. Continuing to interview and network too. Glad to know I’m not overreacting
Location? (Hopefully low COL), though that kind of seems low for anywhere in the US assuming you are a college grad, especially for an analytical role
High COL. Not NYC or SF, but major city. College degree, with previous experience and licenses
Well I think you know the answer, compensation wise, you are worth what someone is willing to pay you, no more, so either convince them you are worth more or convince someone else.....fairness usually doesn't play a part in comp
Josh brown is working hard in three roles for 50k and Antonio brown is pissing over millions of dollars at three different employers ..... such is life . Keep going man

Have you tried to ask for a raise?
I am, but I’m also getting courted for better jobs so I’m waiting to see how that plays out first
