I feel this app exposes the worst of what’s wrong with tech industry. Am I wrong? (Some will probably just say yes)
Lack of empathy. Toxicity. Ego that only suites teenagers. Trolling. Someone told me this is a place where I can find good analysis on salaries and packages. What I found here is basically a nest of idiots so full of themselves. I wasted some of my time on two consecutive nights now. I will stop doing that.

I am routinely disgusted with the people on this app and delete it once or twice a week but keep coming back. It is my nectar.
I logged in yesterday out of curiosity. I logged in today from some push notifications and feel like losers hang out here late at night. There is some fetish of course, pleasuring from knowing people don’t make as much money than I do. But I hope I don’t share your fate.
You must realize that many folkes here are competitive, married/hooked, and a ton of experience with relatively good projects which leads to high TC
This place is good for shaking down the shadow of 'opinions' or 'feelings' and keep it real in terms of TC, career prospects, and company culture. There many been good posts on Blind about raising kids, family stuff, visa stuff, other problems like burn outs, and other political issues and those were discussed fairly well. Now, as a Blind user, you kind of have to pit your TC down at the end of your post because the Blind community believes that TC can put situations in different light.
I think we post TC because FANG+ like circle jerking about our insane comp. (to OP’s point) Not complaining as it helped me get about 40% more than I was initially shooting for.

You're a very fragile person. There's lots of questions here that are useful to both people starting their career and people who have a few years underneath them. Yes there's a lot of trolling/joking/dick flexing but if you can't filter trash from useful then you lack a very useful skill
No I think one of the comments below was right. I came here without any real reason. And then saw people just seeking entertainment off other people’s misery and felt like losers lurk here. Some Facebook employee mentioned they were able to negotiate 40% more that what they could make because of this app. So surely it has some value.
Nerdy engineers have no fun outside work except this app. Entertainment is the motivation, don’t buy what people tell you here except my advice here

While I don’t disagree with what you say, I think the trolling part is funny. This app has helped several people I know negotiate or get better insight into the hiring process. I’ve found it to be helpful and levels.fyi has been the closest thing to accuracy of salary compared to others such as paysa, Glassdoor, etc. There’s a lot of nonsense on here but if you search for the right things related to what you’re looking for, it can be really helpful... bro!
I also get a chuckle from trolls while I’m on the john, but jokes eventually become the norm, which is why the trolling is so regular now, and I think its turning tech culture into something very different than it used to be. I’m also worried about all the redpill bullshit on here.
Blind was good a year ago. Quality has gone way down since.
