I got UX offer from big two, which one should I choose for future

I just graduated from school. Last summer, I did my UX internship in Airbnb but unfortunately they don’t have suitable position for me. I spent several months on job hunting and got 2 offers from Facebook and Google. I am interviewing Apple and Uber right now. I want to have my own UX company or join a startup, like Robinhood, after working in industries for several years. Google’s culture seems to be the best fit for me. Any thoughts or suggestions? As an university grad, I am eager to learn more from others :-)

If focused on rapid career growth, choose fb. Otherwise, learn a ton from Google and move on.

If you want to run your own company make sure you type your resignation email before you join. Set the date else it will never happen... It's called n+1 theory.

I was in your situation and picked FB, felt like better career growth as mentioned above

Also what org is it for in FB?

FB has no design thinking culture, it’s all “throw stuff at the wall, make it pretty, and A/B test it.” If you want Design thinking, Uber has the best UX group of these options. Salesforce and Airbnb are also good for Design and Design thinking.

Hows Amazon?

Depends on the team, but overall not great. Because the product managers often misunderstand customer obsession. We need a strong leader at SVP level who understands human centered design.

Uber if you can. Probably the fastest pace. If you’re into design thinking, Uber especially because there are tons of challenges for what they do. FB might have impressive people somewhere but I was astonished at how shallow the designers I met there were. Maybe I got an unrepresentative sample.

If I were you I would get brand names and robust experience then use that to get plum roles at top startups like you want. You'll bring experience and wisdom and be more of a design leader when you get there. So Google, Apple, Uber. At Uber (pitch time) you'll basically learn what's called service design. The digital UI is only half the battle. Youre designing around real world scenarios. Google has a very robust ux culture lots of products to design around and is a design leader these days. Apple is apple. FB is not a good place to start as you'll pick up bad habits in an engineering driven culture.

Agreed, I had to fix many of the bad habits I picked up from fb

Chiveon is correct. Uber handles much broader design that requires a lot of thinking and collaboration. I’m real-world scenarios. Places like IDEO do this too, but Uber actually makes shit happen.
