I make $100k and still feel broke in sf
Am I insane? My salary is $100k but I still feel like I cant afford to take vacation or trips, I feel like I can barely save money. I see all my friends in tech traveling constantly and living lavish. what am i doing wrong?
What you’re doing ‘wrong’ is earning $100k. If you want to ‘live lavish’, you need to 5x that at least.

San Francisco is the most expensive place to live in... 100k is not sufficient for living there unfortunately

You could be taking home $5k more a year. Under $200k household your rent can be around $2200 and at $300k household you can do $3500.
For a family of 4. So you have to be taking care of three other people in their entirety.
Cmon... it was a wrong question .. if you are making below 150 k .. you are poor. I was making 200.. still felt.. poor.. moved out of California and now I feel I belong to middle class.
