In 2014-16, I was interviewed thrice for Uber Operations manager role. In the first 2 attempts,I went through 2-4 phone rounds. Now Uber has a rule that you have to wait 6 months before interviewing again. On my third attempt, I was told by the recruiter that I scored the highest possible score on the screening aptitude test, which was bound to happen because they hadn't changed the questions in two years. I was honest enough to mention to the recruiter that this was my third attempt. The moment I said this, the recruiter's attitude changed and she asked me if I had waited the requisite 6 months. I said I had but the recruiter ended the conversation and later I got a reject mail without a single round of interview. I suspect the recruiter blacklisted me because since then I have applied for various roles and not once have I even been shortlisted. While I am no longer interested in the ops manager role, I want to explore their Prod management roles. Should I contact the recruiter and explain after some 3 years?
Maybe find a new girlfriend and stop hitting on the one that said no.
Companies being companies.
Im sorry dude. This is what happens when bad recruiters dont do proper conversion and come to conclusion before hearing you completely.
Shouldn’t have mentioned. You noob
I guess you learned to never say more than you have to. Sorry it happened that way.
Why in the world did you mention that this was your third attempt? Don’t divulge any information that could be used against you when interviewing. You could very well have been opening the champagne bottle right now with a big time Uber offer just before it’s mega ipo. Consider this as a valuable lesson learnt.
I was stupid, probably still am but this is one stupidity that I will never ever repeat again
what is exactly that rule? does it count for the same role only? what if it’s a different one?

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
Use different email?
Pretty sure they would have smarter checks like comparing my name and college/uni. But worth a try
You just need to get past the recruiter, you can correct the spelling of your name on the background check.
