I admire the work done at Google Brain and would love to join the team. I have about 8yoe in machine learning mostly on the software side with modeling experience as well but no published ML papers. I consider myself a python expert and fluent on most things cloud computing. I don't have interviews lined up, but believe a little digging through my network can get me a referral or a contact to get started. what tips do you have on increasing the chances of joining the team? what's expected in the interview?
Do a kick ass interview and you may get team matched
so even for a team of mostly specialists Google has the same generic and slow process of interview, then hiring committee then matching?
Yes Actually, even worse Headcount is very limited And a lot of internal candidates also want to get in It'll actually be easier to match with other orgs, get good rating, and then transfer
They mostly hire internally

Just join the Tensorflow team, they're under the Brain umbrella.
that's part of the work I admire and know they're under brain, buy don't know what the application and interview process looks like
Same as regular SWE Except you may choose one ML module
