Don’t know much about it. Know at least one person who said it’s utter crap and even IBM doesn’t use it. On the flip side google seems to return mostly positive reviews. Any insights?
Overpriced, clunky UI, similar to WebLogic (also crap), bad resource overhead on the app server. The MQ server is lacking HA
Yep Weblogic is dog shit. I'd rather use any other Java container...except websphere. Both have an old-school mentality towards admin, deployments, etc, you jump through hoops trying to do CD/DevOps with them. Source: Paychex is a weblogic shop
There is a running joke on our team about how awful it is, I'd avoid at all costs
Jboss be good homies. Weblogic better than websphere. But for messaging, websphere mq is everywhere it seems like in govt, business and legacy tech.
Websphere Liberty profile is very lightweight and very easy to use in my opinion. Being an IBMer I am not biased, I have used it and liked it so far. It's open source, check openliberty.io
It’s shit, don’t ever use it.
Quantify please?
I have to wait hours to deploy on an VM instance and it takes the server at least 5 minutes to start up locally.
