If you are on H1 visa what keeps you from changing jobs?
Nothing
Not every other firm is ready to sponsor work visa let alone file perm so looking out for a change that’s worth it and feasible is tough
No matter how much I try I cannot solve a single algorithm problem so I am stuck at my boring job with a mediocre salary. Has nothing to do with H1B.
This is just sad though to see that less than 10% people like their job, capitalism has really ruined modern life. I was expecting a much higher ratio
All these threads on immigration on Blind show how depressed all the tech workers are from India and China that haven’t got their green card. These people have advanced degrees. Most people in America don’t even finish college. And what’s worse is that it’s not gonna change anytime soon People invest so much money and time immigrating here Legally. It’s just pathetic that immigrants get caught in some political bs. Everyone I know who has got a green card has been able to do start their own business or startup. Until then you’re in limbo.
I have never seen any people from China complaining about green card queue. They just take it as is and they come back to China without much complaint if things don’t work out.
How about the option “difficult to find new employers who’d sponsor H1B and green card “
