If you care about privacy get a Huawei phone

You are handing your trust to a 3rd party that is practically impossible to subpoena, that US has no jurisdiction over, and have no mutual extradition treaties. That’s the real reason why The Deep State will brainwash the masses to think Huawei and ZTE are not to be trusted and are more evil than Facebook, Google, or even Apple.

The only freedom consumers have is choosing a company that has practically zero power over you since all parties are guilty. Snowden proves The Deep State is the worlds biggest spy. Huawei only exists to counter Cisco and Qualcomm which is practically an extension of The Deep State.

Okay.. your post reeks of ignorance. But, it does spark an interesting point:

Are we better off trusting our private data to a US company that probably* won’t share it with US government?
Or are we better off trusting our data to a hostile country that will for sure go through it.. but won’t ever share it with US intelligence?

I don’t claim to be a security expert. You’re right about my intentions of bringing on this discussion of the ulterior motives of the deep state left which is conveniently left out of the media and press releases.

All you cocksure smug corporate stooges are so repugnant and full of it....

That’s not the whole fucking equation you asshat. If I’m an American I don’t need to worry about China (a “”””hostile”””” country in your espeshully learned view) arresting me for domestic crimes like possession of drugs. And what makes you think US companies don’t share with the government??! Look at the numbers in Google’s transparency report. The fucking hubris here...

Hahah I didn't realize our hiring bar was this low now. Hope you're not working on something important

If your threat modeling is this bad I really hope you don’t write code that goes into our products. If you do, please find some security knowledgeable folks somewhere around you and start learning some more about how things work in practice. I understand how you could think this makes sense, but there’s just so much that doesn’t work like you think it does.

Please, get yourself on the path towards learning more before writing more code. :)

Ah yes. Huawei’s famous bug free version of android OS.

Are you feeling alright? You seem rather angry.

I am angry. Bc I have to choose between overpriced, increasingly shitty iPhones, and buggy, foreign, increasingly shitty Android phones. And bc I have to live in a society filled with people as repugnant as you.

you: HURP DURP DURP IMSOSMART U CAN TELL BC IM SUCH A DOUCHE

Ah, would you find it more comfortable if I was insulting others on blind in all caps and engaging solely in calling people idiots rather than making actual points?

      Let me try:

You: I’M VERY INSECURE AND LONELY AND SPEND MY TIME ON BLIND BEING ANGRY ABOUT IT RATHER THAN ENGAGING IN ANY FORM OF SELF IMPROVEMENT. LET ME THROW SOME OTHER WORDS AROUND LIKE HERP AND DERP BECAUSE I CANT THINK OF ANYTHING MORE INTERESTING OR ON POINT TO SAY THAN USING DECADE OLD POP CULTURE REFERENCES.

Is that better? Do you feel like this communication style is more meeting you where you’re at? Do you have additional feedback on my communication style? I’m fascinated by what your opinion will be next!
      Jan 10
    • Google OpEarVoice
Yes thank you!! I much prefer this. More feedback: I’d love it If you could be more specific about what self improvement I should engage in, and what pop culture reference you were referring to.

Herp and derp were popularized by South Park around the turn of the millennia. They were incorporated into memes and brewed deeper in 4chan’s culture and are at this point, pretty universally known by most folks with casual exposure to internet culture. At this point it is a pretty lazy turn of phrase.

I mean I literally wasn’t replying to you at the beginning of this thread, so I never asked you to engage in self improvement, but if you’re asking... If you’re not going to spend time learning more about security, perhaps you could at least explore some more creative turns of phrase? Just to shake things up. I’m sure you’re capable of it, just something most people gotta get in the habit of doing. It’ll generally make your writing more pleasant and interesting to read.

You’re assuming Huawei phones are secure from malicious attacks other than from China.

I believe that assumption is very much false.

Plus using security vulnerabilities, sans cooperation from the manufacturer, is a very common way for NSA etc to spy on people.

That’s a fair point. Although, If the FS encryption keys are stored in another country. OS cannot be specially built to extract data. It will be practically impossible without a backdoor or vulnerability to gain access. Note that Huawei make their own chips and soon their own OS. With everything not in English and no toolchain to begin investigations, good luck.

Lol this is a dumb post, let’s see. If I buy a Huawei phone, my IP will be stolen and replace by a Chinese alternative. Or I can buy American to support my country with pretty much much better security then Huawei. No thanks, I’m sticking to apple an American company

Snowden proves we have better hackers and infrastructure. It’s goes both ways and there’s incompetence all around any large organization. My guess is China has billions of their own people to oppress than to worry about a small fraction they have no legal control over

My data was among those exposed during that government employee hack (targeting Office of Personnel Management). They spend billions of dollars pretending to make all those agencies secure already. OPM couldn’t even implement 2FA authentication despite 6 years of warnings (read the congressional investigation report).

Government spending is not an “either/or” consideration. It’s an unaccountable bottomless pit of waste fraud and abuse out of which a $5b wall fund would make no discernible difference. Don’t worry, we’re not going to build it, and even if we did, brown people would still be coming here illegally, further stressing the economy and overspending.

“Lol fuck American citizens who lose their jobs bc TRUMP ORANG LOLO #resist” great
