Illegal Immigrants

Is there anyone in the Bay who does NOT support illegal immigrants? I'm Chinese, and a lot of Chinese ppl around me think they should be deported because they are ILLEGAL, but we are afraid to make voice

People who come to the United States legally and follow immigration rules (including not overstaying their visa) will most likely feel betrayed by the immigration system if the folkes who came here illegally got their greencard and citizenship before the people who came here legally.

That is EXACTLY what I wanna say

Glooko sugarbaby Jun 22, 2018

So change the system to make it easier for legals to obtain gc and citizenship instead of worrying about the illegals. It's not a zero sum game.

No country can sustain a ton of people illegally migrating into their borders. Don’t have the processing/infrastructure, resources, etc. I feel the same way about “free” education and “free” healthcare. Nothing in life is free. Either someone is paying for it or you’re sacrificing something. It’s not feasible or sustainable to hand out free healthcare, education or let anyone into their country because their home is dangerous. It’s unfortunate, but that’s life. It’s not fair.

Expedia Buildtheqa Jun 22, 2018

Are you serious? If they really are illegal, how can they get free healthcare or education?

Microsoft br0grammer Jun 22, 2018

Many illegals use the emergency room as a source of healthcare. It's a massive strain on the system that no one talks about.

Many Chinese green card holders think like you and support Trump. They feel they worked hard and sacrificed a lot to get the green card so how come those illegal immigrants can live in US easily. They even support the government to make it harder to get green card so they can be the few with the privilege to become Americans. My suggestion to you is that try to have some empathy (karma ;)) and understand why some of those people are willing to take risk to come to US and do those low level labor works that you Chinese don’t want to do. You can always go back to China and there will be tens of engineer jobs waiting for you in Alibaba Tencent or Baidu. However, for many of those asylum seekers “fled” to US, the only options they have at home are get killed by gangster, become a drug dealer or prostitutes.

Google eQPG07 Jun 22, 2018

They just follow money. And there are millions of people who want to migrate to US like them, so by your logic, we should show empathy to all of them? Law is law and no one should be above it.

Proofpoint foodtruckj Jun 22, 2018

You have a sound argument. But, let's not forget that legal immigrants from Asia also came from 2nd and 3rd world countries 10 to 20 years ago. Some of those countries are now better, but those people came legally 20 years ago and even today.

Yahoo tio Jun 22, 2018

Illegal immigrants have more rights than legal ones. Illegals who have no claim of persecution in their country should be deported.

Yahoo tio Jun 22, 2018

I am a legal immigrant.. my Visa lasts extends for 1 year only. Fear of retaliation is extensive. Any year I can be told to go to my country for absolutely no reason. The current administration is handing out RFE and visa rejection for no reason. Compare this with benefits to illegals in California.

Microsoft kyouma Jun 22, 2018

Well, illegals can be deported for no reason, have no way of getting a nice job in tech because of e-verify. They have to do hard manual labors for minimal wage. They also can be told to go back to their country for no reason other than their status. They have to live in true fear of being discovered and returning to their dangerous or really poor hometowns. What is that compared to getting a RFE and maybe end back in your middle class home back in your country. Those lucky bastards,if they knew what you are going through! I am a legal immigrant. I considered myself infinitely more fortunate than the illegal immigrants. I have no envy for their circumstance. I in no way believe they had it easier than me, and would never choose to be on their shoes.

I’m from Europe and I’m against illegals and semi legal migrations. All other people I know who migrated here legally are also against it. Saddest part was when I have heard from one of the abusers of the system like “why do you bother with gc nonsense, just get a fake marriage for 10k that’s it”. I got my green card legally but the whole system feels unfair.

Mexico is also a little different. A lot of their problems are a direct result of US policy. Free trade and government subsidies here has screwed over their farming industry and industrial production (cheaper to import stuff from the US). The drug cartels are a result of US demand for narcotics. Mexico has some of the strictest gun laws but they are right next to America which supplies an endless amount of illegal weapons across the border. We’ve supported messed up government officials and even funded various cartels over the years which hasn’t made things any better either. I’ve always found it funny that a predominately “Christian” country is so adverse to helping those who are in their plight because of their policies and actions. What would Jesus do? And who can blame them either, who here wouldn’t attempt to make a better life for themselves and their family if faced with prospect of 0 economic opportunity, out of control violent crime, 0 education opportunities and lack of adequate food clothing and shelter? Anyone who says they wouldn’t is being incredibly naive...

Glooko sugarbaby Jun 22, 2018

Many /most immigrants who came here legally are too privileged to understand how it feels to be a refugee or the hardships endured to come illegally. Sure there will always be those who abuse the system, find loopholes, etc, but just imagine being in a war-torn country and having to risk everything to sneak into a completely different country where you'll will forever be viewed as a lower class person. Legal and illegal immigrants aren't even competing for the same things in life, as discussed above. Legals are right to feel some injustice but life is not the nicest for illegals. Legals should focus on how to get from the 10% into the 1% instead of worrying about the 90% below.

Exactly, it always amazes me how people just expect human beings to just “wait out the process” when they are under constant threat of death and living in poverty. These same people are the ones so distressed over their “first world” hipster problems. Yet can’t understand how people afraid of being machine gunned or starving to death are taking drastic measures to gtfo of their country 😂😂😂

Microsoft ThisOrThat Jun 23, 2018

Hmm 🤔 Wait so give me a number. How many US should let in. US has finite resources. Also if you want to let in massive amount of folk in I pray people don’t whine about wage suppression anymore.

Fitbit VersaServa Jun 22, 2018

This is America. No one should be afraid to make voice.

Marvell SilentSun Jun 22, 2018

No. The thought police of the liberals come after you. Get you fired. Etc.

Google ;O 𓂺 Jun 22, 2018

A lot of what you’re seeing now are refugees fleeing gang violence. A majority qualify under the criteria for asylum. This is all a racist ploy and republicans will come for Chinese next.

Marvell SilentSun Jun 22, 2018

You’ve crazy.

Microsoft ThisOrThat Jun 23, 2018

Wait there is gang violence every where in Honduras? If not shouldn’t these folks go in their own country first. And if there is gang violence every where do you want all of Honduras to move in. And on that note where do you think our poor folk in Chicago should move to. Lots of murders and gang violence. Take care of your own backyard first

Funny, the immigration laws being “broken” have their origin in 1920s yellow peril hysteria - unfounded fears that the Chinese population and Southern Europeans would flood the US.
