Let’s face it. Majority of H-1Bs are are filed by Indian consulting companies (body shops). They are very likely to abuse the new law (as they already did to the current H-1B system). Yes. Highly skilled Indians are treated unfairly, but HR-1044 is not the way to go. It’s not my country. But I need to warn you people that this can get messy. You guys need reform on your immigration system. You need to keep the real highly skilled workers, and this would just bring you more unqualified ones. A 100k minimum salary cap sounds better than this!
Amen brother. A merit based system which allows the employee to file for themselves is the way to go. And that merit should not promote or reward body shop slaves.

Regardless of how you put it Indian sweatshops are the worst and high skill qualification is beyond questionable

Yep we need quotas on h1bs and OPTs as well to have system balanced. Otherwise bottleneck is making certain nations wait 10-20yrs which is form of torture and slavery and thus should be eliminated!
