I’m being recruited by Google at Mountain View

I have 10 years of working experience, all applicable for a TPM role, more than 5 are with a significant technical role leading teams and various development projects. (Like many of you, I’m also proficient in several languages) After the initial phone screen, I have the second interview scheduled. They’ve sent me their prep material, and I’ve done my research. The interview process is nothing that I’m concerned about, experience is going to speak for itself. If it’s a fit, it’s a fit. My concerns lie within the odds of slipping through the cracks of a large company. While an excellent opportunity, what’s the likelihood to land the on-site interviews if I’ve never actually applied to the company? Are they really interested, or is a recruiter trying to fill a quota? I realize this is the beginning of the process and anything can happen along the way. How many of you have been hired without applying? Any friends that were approached similarly and not hired? Do they do their homework on people or was I randomly struck by the results of someone crawling linkedin?

Google has a very specific interview process and want you to answer questions in a specific way. Your experience, unfortunately, won't speaker for itself. I've read that chances of getting an on-site are 1/7. They recruited me and I have an on-site coming up. PM me for tips.

Skipped the phone screen and went straight on-site

What were the behavioral questions like?

I’ll share that info as well. Right now just looking for others to share their experience. Keep the negativity to yourself ^as prefaced in the original post.

Eh, don’t get so bent out of shape, man. You’re on Blind. Expect to wade through some ass-fuckery on the way to getting your questions answered.

Get through the phone screen. As someone with 150+ interviews under my belt, I'm very hopeful for onsite interviewees.

From phone screens? Hmm. I had to stop doing them because they were too depressing. That might give an indication.

If they've sent you the prep material and you have the second interview scheduled, you aren't going to slip through the cracks. It doesn't matter that you didn't actually apply in their system. Sometimes LinkedIn crawls just work out.
