Imagine working at Google, one of the most evil corporations to exist

I think people who continue to work there don’t have any morals since the company just doesn’t give a fuck also before you swing at DD, at least we try to make changes based on what people say

I'm sure this will be popular on Blind, a Google worshipping platform...

DoorDash dd4ever OP Dec 8, 2019

yea it’s more of a “look at this you dumb fuckers” kind of post

Call me stupid but what is bad about this exactly? They’re collecting DNA on families with autism. Now what? Edit: Nevermind I just noticed they’re using Google Cloud to collect this info somehow?

Weedmaps AUFy44 Dec 8, 2019

It’s just being stored on google cloud. Researchers are the ones collecting the data. They should be asking for patient consent.

Google chuttles Dec 8, 2019

Google cloud for storage. You can’t collect DNA using cloud services

Amazon saiyan_87 Dec 8, 2019

What just happened?

Amazon Sleepy Cat Dec 8, 2019

They study DNA associated with autism, and then what? You can’t change their DNA. Ostracize them into not having children? Use prenatal DNA tests to kill autistic people with abortion? What’s the goal here Googlers?

DoorDash dd4ever OP Dec 8, 2019

Googlers don’t give a fuck as long as they can tell their ignorant friends and family they work at Google so people will say “wow” at social gatherings

Autodesk fomo! Dec 8, 2019

We are all different for a reason, this is almost like hitler. This is sad

Microsoft Dec 8, 2019

Google is scary evil, FB is just stupid evil

Oracle dragonflyy Dec 8, 2019

What’s wrong with collecting genomic data and providing it free to researchers? Patient consent.

Oracle z3p0 Dec 8, 2019

Aye, no consent needed. It's for the "good" in the world! 😏

Weedmaps AUFy44 Dec 8, 2019

I see nothing wrong with this. As long as families are voluntarily providing their DNA and the genomic data is completely anonymous. That said, the results are going to be extremely underwhelming. I have a background in evolutionary genomics. Highly complex traits with multiple genomic regions involved, and complex interactions between genetics and environment means they’re not going to find anything significant from genome scans. Additionally, researchers have trouble even defining what constitutes being on the autism spectrum. Not that long ago Asperger’s was part of it, now it’s not even recognized anymore. Autism is an incredibly complex issue that constitutes an enormous spectrum. Simply diagnosing those on the autism spectrum is a huge complicated issue.

Amazon Sleepy Cat Dec 8, 2019

That’s reassuring. 40 million people are killed by abortion each year, most of them are females in certain countries. It’d be a shame for this mass murder to include even more groups of people.

Amazon zVjh74 Dec 8, 2019

Actually zero people are killed by abortion each year, because abortion doesn’t kill people. Abortion removes a fetus which in most cases wouldn’t survive outside the womb anyway, after a decision made by the mother. Abortion is legal in all 50 states. The Supreme Court says so. Don’t like abortion? Fine, don’t have one.

Google rbtrnndsnw Dec 8, 2019

Disclaimer: This is the first time I’m seeing this, so no internal info here. What’s wrong with developing better treatments for those with autism? That was the stated goal in the screenshot posted. I have a close family member with a disability and it would be wonderful if there could be strides taken to know how to help him more. If you or someone you love had a disability, I’m sure you and your family would also be grateful for treatments and a greater understanding of what’s going on.

Amazon Sleepy Cat Dec 8, 2019

They’ll help people with autism just like they helped people with Down Syndrome. Kill them with abortion. There are countries where no people with Down Syndrome exist for example. Don’t be naive

DoorDash dd4ever OP Dec 8, 2019

And where does it stop? 30-40 years from now do they try to do the same for virtually any disease/disability? This sets a scary precedent
