You can basically get anywhere in inner Pittsburgh from the fifth/sixth and smithfield bus stops. Theres also a PTA station for getting a bus card at the sixth and smithfield stop

      Downtown (walking distance)
      - Market square has a small night market on friday. The square is all fast food joints if you’re looking for quick chain food.
      - tako has some really good korean bbq tacos
      - Bae bae’s kitchen has good korean fusion

      Strip District
      - Drive to the cork factory garage since parking is only like $3 for 2-3 hours
      - gaucho parilla for argentinian steak
      - pho vanh for pho
      - lotus food company has a food counter with taiwanese small plates. Pork belly rice and braised eggs are good and cheap
      - you can basically walk down penn ave and just non stop eat at locally owned restaurants and vendors.

      Oakland
-Take the 61abcd or 67/69 depending on where in downtown you’re staying to get to oakland, don’t try to park here
      - tour CMU. The carnegie museum of art and natural history is free Thursday evenings
      - Tour u pitt campus. The cathedral of learning has different cultural rooms
      - walk around schenley park
      - check out the phipps conservatory and botanical gardens

      Squirrel Hill
      - Street parking is pretty abundant
      - sumi’s cakery has great korean pastries
      - taiwanese bistro cafe 33 is my goto taiwanese joint here

      Southside
      - Take a bus then walk down east carson st. and bar hop.
      - victory point arcade has arcade cabs and basically every console
      - there’s some barcades too can’t remember the name

If you want a view of downtown, cross the smithfield bridge (you can walk across) and take the monongehela incline ride up to mt. Washington.

Let me know if you find out how to meet people while having no interest in sports here. I’ve been living here over a year and haven’t made any friends outside of work.

Visit strip district in day time. It's like a flea market. Worth a visit on the weekend

    1. Take the Duquesne or the Monongahela incline to the Grandview Overlook and the Points of View Park.
    2. If the Pirates are playing, go catch a game at PNC Park.
    3. Take a picture by the fountain at Point State Park where the Monongahela and Allegheny rivers meet.
    4. Go to these museums: Mattress Factory Museum (they have Yayoi Kusama exhibits), Andy Warhol Museum, Randyland (free)
