Greetings good people! I am looking to switch in within my organization and got a call from HR today for sort of the the first HR interview. Should I let my manager know that I am looking outside my team or should I wait to to hear from the HR and proceed with next round of interviews?
3yrs is a long enough time to build a good relationship with your manager. Either way, If you had career discussions previously, things might go smoother.
I am undergoing very similar thing I have applied internally for team switch from presales engineering into dev. 3 years in presales twam. My manager understood and Gave a green signal.

How long have you been with current team/current manager? If you have a good relationship and bc you’re just lookin internally it’s not like he is gonna fire you or anything and allows for a better eventual transition
I been working with her for 3 years. Also my manager is a “she” and I think that changes things😓.. I am a female too.💃
Same manager for 3 yr? No one can fault you for wanting diff exposure after 3 yr on the same team
