India Senior Software Engineer Salaries
Currently Senior Software Engineer at Cisco. Current compensation is 30Lacs base, 15% bonus and around 20K USD stocks per year. This takes CTC roughly to 48-50Lacs. High stocks because company kept stocks grant from US. Having difficulty in finding new job which offers similar compensation. After interview HR says I have to check with hiring committee or they go missing. Is low pay reality of India? Companies sucking candidates or labour is too cheap? Feeling confused 🤔

You cannot negotiate based on stocks awarded in US unless you crack good company very well that they want you at any cost. Most of the product company falls in same salary bucket for 6 yoe. You might want to try startups and they can offer you. Even if some company offers you better package now, over the period of time they will bring you closer to others as they have to manage salary range, or you can show exceptional performance and move to next level quickly. Salary is not a problem for companies, it’s just you have to match with their expectations.
Yep. Most hr willnot hire u for lesser money even if you say you're okay. It's curseof a high salary.
^OP - try in Google/Amazon/Flipkart/Myntra/Inmobi. You can also try in any of the good startups in India. They will pay you 50-70 LPA cash + paper stocks :)
Which companies you interviewing?
Redhat, Veritas, Symantec, PayPal
These should be paying at similar level. May be for your level Cisco really wants you and have paid such that you can’t leave. What grade you at?
