Planning to travel from Seattle to Mumbai. There is a layover in Germany ( frankfurt int'l airport) . I hold a indian passport with valid US visa. Do i need a transit visa for Germany? Has anyone you know travelled through frankfurt to India. Edit : layover is for 3 to 4 hours.
As long as you are within airport, transit Visa is not needed. I travelled from India to Houston in Jan 2019 and did not apply for any transit Visa.
No u don't need one, since u have connecting flight to US that way it's okay.
You need either a valid US visa or transit visa for flying via many airports in Europe
This is the correct answer. You need a visa iff you don’t have a valid us visa.
As long as you don't change airports, you do not need a German/Schengen Visa to transit. I can confirm that.
Thanks everyone! :)
No if Lufthansa
Couldn't get a concrete answer. Would like to rely on someone's personal experience than a random post full of advertisements, hosted on some insecure server that Google recommends to read :)
No transit Visa needed. I flew Lufthansa last spring through Frankfurt
My F1 visa expires in July 2021 and opt in May 2021. If I fly out of US through Germany (4.2 hours layover) a day before my opt expires, will I need a transit visa?
