Influence of current employer brand in hiring process
How much of current company's brand influence in getting into FAANG? Do they treat a person coming from, say Oracle and from Google to get into, say Facebook equally? Also, how employee referrals are weighed in hiring process?
The team does matter more, and probably rightly so. If you are working in old oracle technology or vb6 or mainframe, or even desktop apps with release cycle, you will have a hard time in internet company interviews who release code daily
There are two parts to it
1)The candidate is competent enough
2) the hiring team feeling the candidate is competant enough.
2) matters as much, due to the nature of interviews for which your current team(unless the entire company is like your team) might be a dealbreaker against a equally competant candidate applying for the same position

My question was assuming the candidate is competent enough, how much of the rating is influenced by where the candidate coming from
