Information on IMC Trading?

Anyone know about IMC Trading as a developer? I'm interested in trading (especially high frequency), and was wondering if anyone worked there or knew anything about them. What's the culture like? How stable is the company - are layoffs/firings common? How hard would it be to switch to a tech company later on? I know the company isn't really well known, but it seems like an interesting place. I'd be joining as a new grad.

Had a friend intern there as a SWE and he rejected their full time offer. He told me the people there were arrogant and thought they were smarter than everyone else.

Thanks for the input. Was his experience overall negative, or did he just get a better offer somewhere else?

He ended up going to FAANG.
I’m pretty sure he liked it because he learned a lot but the people there literally drove him away. Also might be stressful due to the nature of fintech work.

My other offer is also at FANG, but it's lower TC than IMC. I tried negotiating, but they wouldn't come up, so I'm weighing whether to go to IMC.

If you’re starting your career, I’d say go with FAANG. Guaranteed to pay dividends in the future in terms of brand name recognition vs fintech. You’ll probably learn more as well. Just my $.02.

I can't speak for the US but I know people from AMS office (since I live here), and it's true.

They pay pretty good for EU / Amsterdam standards, so maybe that's why. Although standards here are really low, and there aren't that many good SWEs in general.

Also if you are just starting out, more TC means shit, you will make way more in the future. Go with the company that will help you grow more. If you want to work in finance long term (don't) then go with IMC, otherwise go with FAANG.
