For folks who work in Infra 1. What % of you work is development 2. How much time do you spend on operations - on call support, new region launch, deployment, bootstrapping etc Personally i find that 30% or sometimes more of it is SRE work. Why do folks want to work in Infra over product team considering product teams have better WLB (no on call or load is too less and even other operational work is less) and SAME pay Thoughts?
No on call for product teams? Have you ever worked in a product team?
Have you ever worked in infra team 🙄 I mentioned no oncall or less on call load I have worked for both product and infra. Work for infra team and then comment
Worked in infra for five years. Seems you never worked in a real revenue impacting product
This is why I am sick of this industry.
Infra is becoming SRE, Product teams are becoming API calling code monkey shit. Problem is internet/cloud industry is getting commoditized/saturated.
