I have an Engineering Manager - M1 level offer from Facebook - 220K base, 40K annual bonus and 1 million stock award that vest over 4 years and 100K sign in. Is this a good offer or is there a room for negotiation?
Ask for 350k base, 35k bonus, 350k sign on and 3.5m stock
Another braggart.
Nope, this is normal pay for E6 / M1
Congrats! This is the highest offer I've seen for L6 / M1 on Blind so far (caveat being there's been only a few data points). I'm sure there's always room for negotiation but you'll probably need a pretty compelling counter.
To give you a little more detail. Most of the numbers I've seen from this level have either the 220k base (but lower RSU) or the 1m stock (but slightly lower base). And none of them got the full 100k sign on. So you seem to have gotten the best of all the worlds (known to Blind).
There is always room for negotiation
How much is your total tech experience? Of that how much is as an eng. manager?
I’d ask for a little more on base. Every buck is a buck.
Does fb manager start at the equivalent of E6? At google there are managers at L5 right?
I believe M0 = L5 at FB. But afaik people are promoted/switched internally to M0. People are hired in at M1+.
L5?? I thought "E5", no? So E6=M1?
It’s a good offer - quite a bit on the higher side.
