Instacart TC

Anyone work at #instacart here? What’s the culture like? I asked for 400k+ TC. Is that even possible in the IC bands? TC 240k YoE 12

400k? Why not 1MM? Damn you Target guys must have high expectations.

Well... I’m interviewing for Staff and Principal level roles, so... yes. High expectations.

I saw them recommended to me on triplebyte in the past with the tag high compensation. I suppose it’s possible for L6 if you believe their paper money valuation

Culture there is really lame. If you are into meetings about meetings and sharing a gender neutral bathroom and being reprimanded for wanting to be heads down to get your work done then join Instacart. Not an interesting business model either. You’re not problem solving for anything compelling and they have enough engineers to make it so you don’t even get to own your role fully. Hard pass. Plus your offer seems weak.

400k at Instacart is weak? O_o

If you get 400 that is incredible. Good luck!

Had an offer there btw. Not just saying that out of nowhere.

DM me. I’d skip.

It’s an interesting time for the industry and Instacart is well position in the space. The next few years will be defining for us. I personally feel it’s a great place to work - strong culture, genuinely good people. Overall, good autonomy and lots of impact. The last round was huge and gives us a lot to utilize.

400k TC as an IC? Hope you're Sr staff/Principal level. Not impossible but tough probably

Target .¯\_(ツ)_/¯ OP Dec 12, 2018

I wasn’t interested enough to do the work there. They’re security team wants someone to do Incident Response and do Detection and Endpoint Deployment. And they only want to start with 2 head count. And the Incident Response that is being done is not Cyber Security Incident Response - it’s Product Incident Response which in itself is completely different. That’s unreasonable for one person to perform as each of these security roles are heavily specialized and require an individual to lead each program.

That’s more than directors get paid at IC. That’s a straight up VP salary or more. Lie.

I know of ICs there making 700+ TC. It’s mostly RSUs, but even so 400 is definitely possible.
