Insurance claim worth it?

Car got broken into and they stole my work laptop, shoes, Bluetooth headphones and my work bag. Worth it to file claim with insurance. Work will give me new laptop and I already have another headset. The most expensive item was my designer handbag. Worth filing insurance claim (where premium can go up)? Edit - would love some real helpful advice and personal anecdotes, instead of negative reactions to the price of my bag. We all have hobbies/preferences and this is mine. It was a Fendi BTW.

Who paid for the laptop ? Been here had it done to me. Work didn’t care. You will need home owners or renters insurance. Auto didn’t cover it

I have insurance. Wondering if it's worth filling the claim.

Most used laptops have an ACV of a few hundred dollars. Bluetooth headset $50 and shoes $50. Bag $50. Most people do $1000 deduct on home owners insurance. Doubt it's worthwhile unless there's more taken.

Bag is in 1000s

I mean, it depends on your deductible. If the bag is $1000, maybe you have a $1500 claim. If your deductible is under $500, probably worth it. If it's $1000 or higher, not gonna be worth it. Homeowner claim can affect your premiums for 5 years, perhaps more than the payout.

Why do you even have a bag worth more than 1500. Doesn't matter why kind of bag. No bag should be worth that much..

Thanks for your expert opinion on how much bags should cost. If you have useful advice on insurance, pls lmk.

You're asking if filing the insurance claim is worth it. But "worth it" is very subjective. We can't really give that advice to you because to many of us even $100 for a bag is not worth the money. Clearly your definition of "worth it" is very different from many of us. And I really don't know why you're so concerned about increased premiums. Unless the bag was a gift, someone willing to shell out 1500 for a bag would not be concerned with increased premiums I would think. If that indeed was a gift, then cut your losses and leave the insurance as it is.

^^ Many fashion bags for women are crazy expensive. Just wait till you are married and take inventory of the price of your wife’s shoes.
