115 k TC for 3 years Exp Role 105 plus Bonus Have asked for 125k TC I have 5 years Experience now. Want to move out of Bay Area. Can Managers Cancel offer if they can’t match the request?
Currently TC is 125K in Bay Area.
Sounds reasonable as a TC. They won't go much more than this for G6... Unless you're exceptional... And then HR will block that ;) I don't think they'll cancel - they'll tell you they tried and can't match
Hmmm why do you want to go to folsom though. I recently escaped from Intel Folsom!!! Haha most people I worked with there are also looking to escape as well
There are not many options besides Intel in the Sacramento region that's why. If SAC tech had taken off in the manner pundits predicted back in the 90s people would be quite content at Intel Folsom. I know a few who live in big beautiful Folsom houses WFH 3 days a week and work in SF Bay twice a week (they rent a room in someone's house). Not a bad lifestyle - Folsom downtown SAC Eldorado Hills Fair Oaks are great places to wake up to on the weekends !
Folsom has a downtown? ... theres the historic street (forgot the name) and the palladio and thats basically it haha. Depends on the age of the OP i guess. i’m 25 and all of Sacramento region was wayyy too of a settled/retirement vibe that I couldnt stand it.
No one cancels the offer if you behave well in your conversation with recruiter... If you sound arrogant in your talk, then anyone would cancel...
Folsom is a lovely place if you're looking to get out of The Bay Area rat race. Real estate is still expensive though - probably comparable to Hillsboro or maybe even pricier. Beautiful sunny weather though IMHO Sacramento geographic beauty beats Silicon Valley with zero contest. Sure there are pockets of loveliness here and there (Oakland, SF, Berkeley) but most of SF Bay is just strip malls corporate offices and ugliness.
TC is reasonable for an Intel offer. And you will be well ahead financially compared to 125K in bay area. Maybe you can get them to kick in a sign on bonus. Agree with what wpiy says about Folsom / Sacramento area. If you want the very different vibe, you can find it there. And as long as you don't mind not making FANG money, you probably won't find a better paying job in the area. Many live there and love it for the very different lifestyle - particularly if you want to raise a family. Also second what UU said about negotiating. It never hurts to ask and they won't yank your offer just because you do - just don't use Trump style negotiation tactics. Only other caution is that Intel can be very slow in the hiring process and job openings often disappear - even after offers are made. The more back and forth you do means the longer it will take which means more risk the offer could disappear for other reasons.
Looks like a high end G6, base is pretty high (according to Intel standard) and would be hard to negotiate. Asking for initial RSU grant and sign-on bonus.
Are u just moving from Intel' SC location to Intle Folsom ? Or as an external hire to Intel, Folsom ? The compensation will vary based on that...
External hire !
105K base is within range for Grade 6. The bonus comprise of APB(Annual Performance Bonus) and QPB(Quarterly Performance Bonus) which depend on a multiplier. Have they given a multiplier value in the offer letter ? Also how many RSUs/Stick value per year ? I assume from your post that it is 10K worth of stock per year ? They won't cancel the offer because you negotiated.

Google CFO confirms "large-scale" layoffs today (Apr 17)
Very low ball after 5 years exp. what's the role?
Also, what's your current TC?
Surely not a low ball. This is Intel's standard comp.
