Interim financing when switching homes
n00b question: do banks offer “bridge loans” or similar if you want to move to a new house before selling your current home. I know I will sell my current home within 6 months of purchasing a second home. I want learn more about how people typically manage to get a second mortgage in the interim.

Just got a huge mortgage to buy a new house. Will re-amortize it into a smaller mortgage when the old house is sold. In my case the old house has no mortgage.
We got a big home equity line on the current home & used it as a down payment on the new home. Then after closing on the new home put the old one on the market.
