Internal transfer

Hi guys, I'm planning to change teams internally and want to hear the first hand experience from folks who had to deal with the visa transfer? Is it a risk at this point in time to move teams and start the visa process all over again? Role: L5 BI engineer, currently part of Amazon Corp. Looking for data engineering opportunities across retail, Alexa or AWS.
