Hey all - how do you avoid transaction fees when traveling abroad from USA?

What kind of credit card? Some type of service that has no international fee charges? Let me know! Much appreciated.

I have a checking and credit card with JPMorgan if that helps.

I think all capital one cards are no foreign transaction fee cards.
Quick silver is a good one. No annual fee, no transaction fees and you still get 1.5% back on purchases

Chase Sapphire or Citi Prestige. Both also offer Global Entry credit, well worth it.

Capital One has a no fee credit card. I paid over 500 in international fees for a week away from US using my Wells Fargo card, should have used Capital One instead..

  • Look for a card that doesn’t have foreign transaction fees.

I use Chase Sapphire Reserve or my Amex platinum. But no foreign transaction fee is pretty common for all travel focused credit cards. But you loose a little bit in exchange rate any way.
